: Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Borodavkin meets Chinese Ambassador Li Hui at the latter’s request. They exchange views on “pressing regional issues,” including the Korean nuclear problem.
: Kim Jong Il visits Northeast China following his Russian tour and meets State Councilor Dai Binguo in Heilongjiang province on Aug. 26.
: Deputy Foreign Minister M.L. Bogdanov receives Chinese Ambassador to Russia Li Hui at the latter’s request. They have “a detailed exchange of views” on the situation in Libya, Syria, and the Middle East as a whole.
: North Korean leader Kim Jong Il visits the far eastern region of Russia and meets President Dmitry Medvedev on Aug. 24 in Ulan Ude.
