Janet Snyder is currently reporting for the Hawaii Tribune-Herald after 12 years with Reuters and more than two decades in Asia. She served as Deputy Chief Correspondent in Tokyo for Reuters from 1997 to 1999, pioneered Reuters Financial Television network in Asia as its first anchor from 1994 to 1997, and served as a correspondent to China. Prior to her time with Reuters, she served as a correspondent in Japan for United Press International and as a news researcher for NBC News in Hong Kong. Janet Snyder received a BA degree in Japanese and a Masters degree in Journalism from Columbia University.
